NVIDIA App beta adds high-frame-rate ShadowPlay and Surround controls
NVIDIA has released a new beta update for the NVIDIA App, adding higher frame-rate ShadowPlay recording options for GeForce RTX GPUs.
The update enables 4K 240 FPS recording on GeForce RTX 50 and RTX 40 Series graphics cards equipped with dual NVENC encoders. GPUs with a single NVENC encoder can record at up to 1440p and 240 FPS.
The feature is aimed at users who want high-refresh-rate gameplay footage without using third-party recording tools. NVIDIA says users can check the “total # of NVENC” listed for their GPU to confirm which recording option is available.
The new recording settings can be configured from the NVIDIA overlay by pressing Alt+Z, then going to Settings and Video Capture. The update is currently available through the beta channel, which can be enabled in Settings, About, Opt in.

Three monitor setups in App
NVIDIA has also added new options for three-monitor NVIDIA Surround setups. Users can now keep the taskbar on a single display and maximize windows across all displays. These settings are available under System, Displays, Surround.
Just before Computex, NVIDIA announced a full migration of GeForce Experience and Control Panel features into the NVIDIA App.
