Intel reportedly cancels 6-core Nova Lake mobile chip
Intel may have cancelled one of its lower-end Nova Lake mobile processors.
According to Jaykihn, the 6-core Nova Lake mobile SKU is no longer planned. The leaker did not share a full product name, but Bionic_Squash later explained that this refers to a 2+0+4 configuration, meaning two Performance cores and four Low Power Efficient cores.
This Nova Lake chip would have targeted the same market as Wildcat Lake Refresh. According to Bionic_Squash, Intel now believes Wildcat Lake Refresh is a more competitive product for that segment, and demand for Wildcat Lake was higher than expected.

There’s demand for budget laptop SoCs
This would make sense for Intel’s entry-level and mainstream mobile lineup. Wildcat Lake already uses the Intel Core Series 3 branding without the Ultra name, and Intel lists current Wildcat Lake parts with up to 6 cores, 15W base power and 35W maximum turbo power.
Intel also used its Computex 2026 keynote to confirm demand for its current mobile platforms. The company said Panther Lake, or Core Ultra Series 3, has more than 300 designs to date. Intel also said Wildcat Lake has already reached more than 70 designs within a few months, bringing the combined number above 400 designs.
That gives Intel a clear reason to keep a lower-cost Wildcat Lake Refresh in the roadmap instead of launching a small Nova Lake mobile chip in the same segment.
