ASUS ROG Crosshair X870E Edition 20 supports up to nine M.2 SSDs
The board is based on the AMD X870E chipset and supports Ryzen 9000, Ryzen 8000 and Ryzen 7000 desktop processors. ASUS lists it as an E-ATX design with 24(110A)+2(110A)+2 power stages.
The Crosshair X870E Edition 20 uses a full-width thermal deck with a pure copper heatsink . ASUS had recently shown another special Crosshair motherboard, but that model did not use real copper and received some criticism for it. ASUS also added a 3D vapor chamber M.2 heatsink for one PCIe 5.0 SSD slot and a 3 mm backplate heatsink.

The ROG Crosshair X870E Edition 20 transforms the motherboard into a flagship anniversary centerpiece, combining advanced thermal engineering, robust power delivery, and immersive visual design. It features a full-width thermal deck with pure copper heatsink, complemented by a dedicated AIO cooler — the ROG Ryujin 360 Edition 20, powered by the Asetek EMMA GEN10 V3RX pump, and a 40mm-thick, 20FPI non-louvered radiator. It offers support for up to nine M.2 slots and has dual 6.67-inch swivel AMOLED displays synchronized through ASUS InfoHub.
Custom cooling for the motherboard and CPU
This motherboard is paired with the ROG Ryujin 360 Edition 20 liquid cooler. ASUS says the two products will be sold together as a bundle. The cooler uses an Asetek EMMA GEN10 V3RX pump, a 40 mm thick 20 FPI non-louvered radiator and a 99.95% pure copper cold plate.
ASUS claims the cooler can also help lower VRM and PCB temperatures. In its own Prime95 test with a Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 processor, ASUS reports a 9.61% lower CPU temperature, a 39.59% lower PCB temperature and a 48.07% lower MOSFET temperature compared with the ROG Crosshair X870E Glacial and Ryujin III 360 ARGB Extreme setup.
The storage layout is also unusual for an AM5 board. ASUS lists five onboard M.2 slots, including two PCIe 5.0 slots and three PCIe 4.0 slots. The total rises to nine M.2 slots with the bundled ROG Hyper M.2 card and ROG Q-DIMM.2 add-on.

The board and cooler also use Swivel Dual 6.67-inch AMOLED LCD panels. ASUS says these screens can be synchronized through ASUS InfoHub Edition 20 and Display Sync-Up Mode.
