Gigabyte’s unreleased AORUS Arc A770
Gigabyte apparently had more plans for Intel Arc Alchemist than what reached retail.
What would have happened, and how would today’s GPO market look if Intel didn’t delay its Alchemist GPU architecture by a year and deliver lower performance? Well, we may not have the answer to that, but at least now we know that one of the largest GPU vendors did explore launching their gaming card at some point.
A cooler for a never-released Gigabyte AORUS Arc A770 graphics card has surfaced online. The part was shared by GOK, who linked it to DG2-512 , the large Alchemist GPU configuration associated with Intel’s Arc A770 series.

The cooler carries AORUS branding and uses a triple-fan layout. This suggests Gigabyte had at least one higher-end Arc design in development. However, the company never released an AORUS-branded Arc A770 card.

Gigabyte did release Intel Arc graphics cards, but its retail lineup was limited to lower-end models. The company launched Arc A380 and Arc A310 designs based on Intel’s smaller ACM-G11 GPU. One of those coolers, also shown in the leak, later appeared on the retail Gigabyte Arc A380 GAMING model.

The Arc A770 was Intel’s fastest first-generation Arc desktop GPU. Intel lists the A770 under the Arc A-Series with Alchemist as the former code name and Xe HPG as the microarchitecture. The 16GB model used a 256-bit memory interface.
Gigabyte has not released any Arc Battlemage GPU till today, it doesn’t look that they might.
