Intel Wildcat Lake reference laptop uses Frore AirJet Mini for 15W sustained cooling

Fanless cooling for Core Series 3 laptops.

Frore Systems has shown a new implementation of its AirJet Mini solid-state cooling inside an Intel Wildcat Lake laptop reference design . The system uses an AirJet module paired with a vapor chamber to cool Intel’s Core Series 3 platform without a conventional fan.

The reference laptop is reportedly 11.3 mm thick and targets silent operation. Frore says this cooling setup allows 15W sustained workloads and up to 30W PL2 burst power. T he company has measured 28 dBA noise so far, with 24 dBA said to be possible after further tuning.

Solid state cooling tech

AirJet Mini is not a passive cooler. It uses solid-state membranes to move air without a mechanical fan. Frore’s public AirJet Mini G2 specifications list 7.5W heat dissipation per module, a 27 mm × 41.5 mm × 2.65 mm package, 1,750 Pa back pressure, and 21 dBA noise.

Intel launched Wildcat Lake just a few wesks ago. The series targets value laptops, commercial systems, and edge devices, with Intel listing more than 70 partner designs. Intel has not released its reference design as an actual product, but we have seen how it looks (apparently has different colors as well):

There is no confirmed retail laptop with this exact AirJet-cooled Wildcat Lake design yet. The system shown at Computex is a reference platform, so it is mainly meant to show OEMs what can be done with Intel’s value laptop silicon and Frore’s solid-state cooling. Perhaps, we might see it in a commercial product at some point.
