AMD Radeon RX 9070 GRE priced too close to RX 9070, early sales appear weak
AMD has launched the Radeon RX 9070 GRE globally, but early retail pricing already looks difficult to defend. The card officially starts at $549, the same launch price as the Radeon RX 9070 non-XT.
According to 3DCenter, the first German listings started at €559, while current offers are around €547. The problem is that the faster Radeon RX 9070 is already available from €542 in the same market.

The Radeon RX 9070 GRE is a cut-down RDNA 4 card with 48 Compute Units, 12GB of GDDR6 memory, a 192-bit bus and 220W board power. It is meant to sit between the RX 9060 XT and RX 9070, but current retail pricing puts it too close to the higher-tier model.
3DCenter also points to early Mindfactory data, where six Radeon RX 9070 GRE models are listed . None of them has reached a visible sold counter. Mindfactory only shows sales once a listing passes its public reporting threshold, so this does not confirm zero sales, but it suggests that none of the listed models has reached even low double-digit demand.

Usually after each launch we see lots of threads on forums and Reddit with people showing their new cards. I am yet to see a photo from a happy customer. I’m not sure what AMD was thinking with the pricing for this card.
Reviewers didn’t leave a lot of good words for AMD either. As you might have noticed we didn’t post a roundup this time. First it was at 2AM embargo and second the card already came out in May last year in China. There was zero point in any embargo to begin with.
