MSI MEG X keeps AI features, but drops auto-tracking and anti-flash tools
MSI has updated its MEG X gaming monitor concept at Computex 2026. The monitor was previously promoted as the company’s “true AI gaming monitor,” but some of its features were close enough to gameplay assistance that they quickly raised questions.
We covered the MEG X earlier this year , when MSI listed features such as AI Tracker, AI Goggle and AI Scope. Those are now gone, according to ComputerBase. The removed features included character highlighting, reduced flashbang effects and automatic zooming on opponents.
Three AI features remain. AI Vision+ can brighten darker parts of the image, AI Scene can switch monitor profiles depending on content and AI Gauge can adjust an RGB bar based on what is shown on screen. ComputerBase notes that AI Vision+ is still viewed as cheating by nearly 54% of respondents in its reader poll.

MSI also added three new functions. AI Audio Scene analyzes game audio and switches equalizer profiles based on the game type. The feature only works when audio output is connected through the monitor, and users can still edit the profiles.

AI Crosshair can change the color of the monitor crosshair depending on the background. This is meant to improve contrast, but ComputerBase notes that the feature also includes a “night light” mode. This can show the crosshair area with a low-light effect, which may again raise questions in competitive games.
The third new feature is AI Super Resolution . MSI says it can enhance Full HD content and upscale it to near-4K quality. It is meant to work with screenshots, videos and games, with an option to enhance only a selected part of the image. I mean, check the video above and you will understand. I was genuinely confused because I thought it looked better without the AI Super Resolution enabled.
