SteamOS 3.8.7 beta starts adding official MSI Claw support.
Valve has released SteamOS 3.8.7 Beta, another “Second Clutch” update for the Steam Deck Beta and Preview channels. The changelog now includes official controller support for MSI Claw devices.
The supported list names MSI Claw A1M, Claw 7 AI+ A2VM, Claw 8 AI+ A2VM and Claw A8 BZ2EM. This covers the original Intel Core Ultra-based Claw, newer Lunar Lake-based Claw AI+ models and the AMD-based Claw A8.
MSI Claw joins SteamOS beta changelog
Valve specifically lists MSI Claw devices in the Non-Deck section of the SteamOS 3.8.7 beta notes. Valve also lists a Bluetooth fix for some Intel handhelds and initial firmware support for upcoming Intel handhelds in the new 3.8.7 section.

Worth noting that the changelog does not mention Arc G3 or any specific next-generation Intel handheld platform. I guess we will have to wait for that. Valve has been expanding SteamOS 3.8 beyond Steam Deck through the entire beta branch. The changelog lists work for ASUS ROG Ally, ROG Xbox Ally, Lenovo Legion Go, GPD, OneXPlayer, Zotac, Anbernic, OrangePi and MSI Claw devices.
As for the fixes, SteamOS 3.8.7 also fixes a GPU crash in Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced, an audio popping regression from earlier 3.8 builds and Remote Play capture in Desktop Mode when using a Wayland session. Valve also improved low-battery UI behavior when the device is connected to a slow charger.
The update follows SteamOS 3.8.6 beta, which already added controller support for MSI Claw and OneXPlayer APEX/X1 handhelds (AMD based). That same update improved gyro response on devices using AccelGyro3D, including Legion Go 1 and Claw A1M, and fixed a crash on international ASUS ROG Xbox Ally models.
