GeForce RTX 3050 Ti desktop sample appears with 3328 CUDA cores

An unreleased NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti desktop graphics card has appeared online, showing what appears to be an engineering sample from the Ampere generation.
The card was shown by GOKForFree with GPU-Z screenshots and a 3DMark Time Spy result. GPU-Z does not recognize the model name and only reports it as an “NVIDIA Graphics Device,” but the stickers on the card identify it as an RTX 3050 Ti sample.
GA106 GPU with 6GB GDDR6
The sample uses the GA106-200-A1 GPU and PG190 SKU 40 board. According to the screenshots, it has 3328 CUDA cores, 48 ROPs and 104 TMUs.
The card is equipped with 6GB of GDDR6 memory on a 192-bit bus. GPU-Z reports 1750 MHz memory clock and 336 GB/s of bandwidth. The BIOS page shows a 120W default and maximum power limit, with the minimum set to 100W.
The sample has a 1410 MHz base clock and 1665 MHz boost clock. It was tested with NVIDIA 516.61 beta drivers, which are old Ampere-era drivers from June 2022.

The Time Spy graphics score is 7787. That puts the sample above typical RTX 3050 desktop results and close to RTX 3060 8GB results shown in the original comparison. The card has 30% more CUDA cores than the official RTX 3050 8GB and uses a wider 192-bit memory bus, while the regular RTX 3050 8GB is a 2560-core, 128-bit model.

The RTX 3050 Ti desktop was never released. We covered early Ampere plans in 2020, where PG190 and GA106-based RTX 3050 Ti configurations were already being discussed. NVIDIA later released the RTX 3050 desktop in several forms, including 8GB and 6GB models, but no desktop RTX 3050 Ti reached retail.
Well, I guess it’s nice to see that some old rumors (almost 6 years old) get partial confirmation.
