GMKtec EVO-X3 to add AMD Ryzen AI Max PRO 400 option
© Wccftech/AMD GMKtec EVO-X3 is now the first mini-PC confirmed with a planned upgrade to AMD’s Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 processor . According to Wccftech, the system will first launch with Ryzen AI Max+ 395, the same Strix Halo APU used by the EVO-X2, but GMKtec is also preparing a Ryzen AI Max+ 495 version with 192GB of LPDDR5X memory for later this year.
The EVO-X3 itself is a larger follow-up to the EVO-X2, with upgraded I/O rather than a full platform change at launch. GMKtec lists native OCuLink for external graphics, WiFi 7, USB4, dual PCIe 4.0 drive bays and ROCm software support. The company announced EVO-X3 in May , it was the first time it was shown at AMD AI Developer Day 2026 in Shanghai.

MAX 400 “Gorgon Halo”
AMD confirmed the Ryzen AI Max PRO 400 series on May 20, 2026. The company said systems based on the new processors will launch from OEM partners including HP and Lenovo in the third quarter of 2026. AMD also confirmed that the series targets commercial PCs, mobile workstations and small-form-factor desktops, which puts the GMKtec EVO-X3 into the right device class.

The Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 is still based on Zen 5 CPU cores and RDNA 3.5 graphics, so this is a refresh of the current Strix Halo platform rather than a new architecture. The main changes are higher clocks, 192GB unified memory, up to 160GB configurable VRAM, Radeon 8065S graphics, a 3.0 GHz GPU clock and up to 55 TOPS from the XDNA 2 NPU. Ryzen AI Max+ 395 supports up to 128GB LPDDR5X-8000 and uses Radeon 8060S graphics at up to 2.9 GHz.
