AMD RDNA 5 gaming GPUs reportedly expected in late 2027
AMD’s next-generation Radeon gaming GPUs are reportedly still at least a year away. According to Tweakers, which spoke with several AMD board partners at Computex 2026, manufacturers expect the first RDNA 5 graphics cards to arrive in 2027 at the earliest.
One board partner reportedly expects the first AMD RDNA 5 GPUs in the second or third quarter of 2027. Another source believes that schedule is too optimistic and points to late 2027 or even early 2028 for retail availability.

Radeon RX 9000 successors not expected soon
AMD has not announced RDNA 5 gaming GPUs yet. The company’s current desktop lineup is still based on RDNA 4, with Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 launching in March 2025, followed by the RX 9060 XT and RX 9070 GRE.
We previously reported that an RDNA 5 discrete GPU entry had appeared in an LLVM update with the GFX1310 ID. That confirmed early software enablement for the next architecture, but the entry did not reveal product names, specifications or a launch date.
Earlier rumors suggested that RDNA 5 may bring AMD back to a wider GPU stack after RDNA 4 focused on mainstream and upper-mainstream cards. Some rumors also mentioned multiple GPU designs, including a higher-end chip, but none of those specifications have been confirmed by AMD.
The reported timing would put AMD’s next Radeon generation close to NVIDIA’s expected GeForce RTX 60 series window. Current rumors point to a late 2027 or early 2028 launch for NVIDIA’s next consumer GPUs, likely based on the Rubin architecture.
