Z890 AORUS TACHYON DUO X ICE used for new DDR5 record

GIGABYTE says its in-house overclocking team has reached DDR5-13556 MT/s at Computex 2026, setting a new memory overclocking world record. The run used CORSAIR VENGEANCE DDR5 memory and the Z890 AORUS TACHYON DUO X ICE motherboard.
The result was achieved by GIGABYTE’s overclocking team led by Hicookie. The company says the same team also joined G.SKILL’s 12th Annual OC World Record Stage at Computex, where it secured 10 global first places across CPU frequency and other benchmark categories.
The DDR5-13556 result is tied to GIGABYTE’s Z890 AORUS TACHYON DUO X ICE, a 2-DIMM motherboard built for memory overclocking. We already covered this board in April , when GIGABYTE listed support for memory overclocking up to DDR5-10400 and CQDIMM modules up to 8000 MT/s.

Other world records with X870 AORUS INFINITY and Ryzen 9 9950X3D2
For the G.SKILL stage results, GIGABYTE used its X870 AORUS INFINITY motherboard with G.SKILL Trident Z5 RGB memory and AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 processors. GIGABYTE says this setup was used for 10 global first places.
The company says the Z890 board uses CQDIMM technology to reduce memory channel load and improve signal integrity. The X870 AORUS INFINITY is aimed at low memory latency on AMD’s X870 platform.
As always with these records, the results should be treated as extreme overclocking validation, not as a standard gaming or workstation memory profile. These runs are meant to test platform limits under controlled conditions rather than represent daily DDR5 settings for end users.
