Xbox confirms two new console exclusives
Asha Sharma, head of Xbox, has confirmed that Gears of War: E-Day and Clockwork Revolution will be Xbox console exclusives. The comment follows recent Microsoft releases on rival platforms, including PlayStation 5, which made Xbox’s exclusivity strategy less clear.

“We want people to choose Xbox because of great games and experiences,” Sharma said. “That also means giving you something that was made for Xbox.”
She then confirmed that Gears of War: E-Day and Clockwork Revolution will be Xbox console exclusives. This does not mean PC support is being removed. In Microsoft’s wording, “Xbox console exclusive” usually means a game is not coming to PlayStation or Nintendo consoles, while still launching on Xbox consoles and PC. Not to mention, next-gen Xbox is basically a PC.

The official Xbox page for Clockwork Revolution lists Xbox Series X|S and Windows 10/11 as supported platforms. Xbox Wire previously confirmed the game for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Steam, cloud, Game Pass and Xbox Play Anywhere.
For Gears of War: E-Day , Xbox lists the game as a day-one Game Pass release. The game is built with Unreal Engine 5 and follows Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago 14 years before the original Gears of War.
The confirmation is a shift in messaging after Microsoft brought more first-party games to PlayStation. Gears of War: Reloaded was one of those releases, with Xbox itself listing PlayStation alongside Xbox Series X|S, Xbox PC, Steam and cloud.
