Crazy Taxi: World Tour brings Axel back in 2027

SEGA has announced Crazy Taxi: World Tour, the next entry in its arcade driving series. The game was shown during the Xbox Games Showcase 2026 and is planned for release in 2027.
Axel returns in a global chase
The trailer confirms the return of Axel, who is chasing a group of masked thieves after they steal his taxi. The story moves the series beyond one city, with missions set across multiple locations around the world.
The core idea still appears to follow the original Crazy Taxi formula. Players pick up passengers, drive at speed, perform stunts and earn money before the timer runs out.

The announcement follows SEGA’s 2023 legacy IP revival plan, which included new projects based on Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio, Golden Axe, Shinobi and Streets of Rage. Crazy Taxi first appeared in arcades in 1999 before its Dreamcast release.
Xbox-focused coverage confirms Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC support, along with Xbox Play Anywhere. There’s no mention of other platforms.
