Yesterday, during the Xbox Games Showcase 2026 , Halo Studios (formerly known as 343 Industries) unveiled the release date and opened pre-orders for Halo: Campaign Evolved . The game will be released on July 28 for PC, PlayStation 5 (in a franchise first), and Xbox Series S and X, although early access will begin five days earlier, on July 23, for those who buy the Premium Edition (which costs $79.99 , $20 more than the Standard Edition).
The team has also now shared detailed PC specifications . The game is powered by Unreal Engine 5 , following the studio's decision to abandon the Slipspace engine that powered Halo Infinite . The Xbox store page also mentions ray tracing ; Infinite added ray traced sun shadows in a post-launch update, but they only worked in the multiplayer mode, so this will be the first Halo game to offer ray tracing in the campaign.

Halo: Campaign Evolved remakes Combat Evolved and adds three new missions featuring the Master Chief and Sgt. Johnson , although the competitive multiplayer has been cut. However, the campaign is fully available in four-player co-op and crossplay.
