Upcoming Arm Mali GPUs to support Neural Dawn with Unreal Engine MegaLights
Arm and Sumo Digital have announced Neural Dawn, a new Android mobile game built to demonstrate Arm Neural Technology on next-generation Arm Mali GPUs.

The project is described as the first mobile game to use Unreal Engine MegaLights in real time. It also uses Arm’s neural graphics stack, including Neural Super Sampling and Denoising, as well as Neural Frame Rate Upscaling.

Neural Dawn was built in Unreal Engine 5.6.1. Arm says the game uses MegaLights to enable large numbers of dynamic lights, with support for complex direct lighting and ray-traced shadows on mobile hardware.
The game has 120 minutes of gameplay across four levels. It follows a research scientist exploring a cave network, with lighting used both for visual direction and gameplay guidance.





















Arm says the game will launch later in 2026 on Android devices powered by upcoming Arm Mali GPUs. These GPUs are expected to bring dedicated neural accelerators to Arm CSS for mobile, allowing graphics and neural compute to work within a mobile power budget.
The project was developed by a 17-person team at Sumo Digital over 18 months. Arm says the team used standard industry tools and workflows rather than a custom rendering pipeline.
Arm is also releasing a Neural Graphics Playbook and Development Kit. The company plans to update the kit in July with Neural Frame Rate Upscaling resources and upgraded Neural Super Sampling resources for developers.
While this is the first game using neural rendering tech, ARM has already been working on neural technologies for graphics. The company announced Arm Neural Super Sampling , which Arm said can upscale from 540p to 1080p in around 4 ms per frame while reducing GPU workload by up to 50% compared to native rendering. Neural Dawn now shows the same direction applied to a complete mobile game project.
