Japanese retailer warns heavy graphics cards can bend without support brackets
Heavy triple-fan GPUs need extra support (and typically they are bundled with the GPU).
Japanese PC retailer PC One’s has issued a warning for users of large graphics cards. The store shared photos on X showing a card visibly bent under its own weight.
The retailer said that users of triple-fan graphics cards, or models with similar weight, should use a support bracket. The retailer also sells such brackets, but the warning is broader. Many modern graphics cards now occupy three or four slots and use large heatsinks.
A graphics card is still supported mainly by the rear case bracket and the PCIe slot on the motherboard. With heavier cards, that two-point support can allow the card to sag over time.

In the worst case, this can damage the graphics card or the motherboard slot. The risk is not limited to one vendor or one GPU generation. Any long and heavy card can place stress on the PCB and PCIe connector if it is installed without support.
Some graphics card makers already include anti-sag brackets with higher-end models. ASUS has also gone further with Level Sense support on some ROG cards, using onboard sensors to detect when a card is no longer level.

Users reacted by sharing their own solutions for heavy GPUs. The common view is that almost anything rigid enough can support a graphics card, from bricks to 3D-printed stands or even an old pencil.
