Windows 11 June update adds CPU boost for faster Start menu and Search
Microsoft is now rolling out Windows 11 KB5094126, the June 2026 cumulative update for Windows 11 24H2 and 25H2. The update brings OS builds 26100.8655 and 26200.8655.
The release moves recent preview changes from KB5089573 into the regular Patch Tuesday update. This includes Microsoft’s new general performance change for app launches and core shell actions.
Short CPU bursts for Windows shell
Microsoft does not call the feature “Low Latency Profile” in the changelog. The official notes only say the update accelerates app launch and core shell experiences such as the Start menu, Search and Action Center.
This is the same CPU burst behavior that has been tested over the past month. Windows briefly raises CPU clocks when the user opens apps or common interface elements. The boost lasts around one to three seconds, then the processor returns to its normal state.

We already covered Low Latency Profile when Microsoft started distributing it through the optional May update. The June update now moves the same change into the monthly security release, but Microsoft is still using a staged rollout. That means installing KB5094126 does not guarantee the feature is active on every PC immediately.
The ‘feature’ is enabled automatically
Windows Latest reports that users can check the feature by monitoring CPU frequency while opening Start, Search or Action Center. If the clock speed does not spike, the feature can apparently be enabled early with ViVeTool using feature ID “58989092.”
KB5094126 also brings Shared Audio for two Bluetooth LE Audio devices, Multi-App Camera support, new Task Manager NPU columns and an option to choose the user folder name during setup. Windows Search can now find and prioritize files with as few as two characters.
