Intel Core Ultra 7 251HX 18-core CPU appears in PassMark, nearly matches 20-core HX models

Intel Core Ultra 7 251HX early PassMark result puts it near 20-core models

Four extra E-cores over 245HX add 10,768 points in PassMark.

The first PassMark results for Intel’s Core Ultra 7 251HX have been spotted by x86deadandback. The CPU is listed with only two submitted samples so far, so this is still an early result.

PassMark currently lists the Core Ultra 7 251HX with 48,713 points in multi-thread and 4,666 points in single-thread. That puts the 18-core chip slightly ahead of the Core Ultra 7 255HX and Core Ultra 7 265HX in the same database, despite both being 20-core models.

The difference is small and should not be treated as a final average. PassMark itself marks the 251HX result with a high margin of error due to the limited sample count. The 255HX and 265HX already have much larger result pools.

The more interesting comparison may be against the Core Ultra 5 245HX . Both chips have six Performance cores, but the 251HX has 12 Efficient cores instead of eight. That gives the newer chip four extra E-cores, while the multi-thread score rises by 10,768 points, or around 28%.

This CPU is already present in several systems including Lenovo and MSI gaming laptop . Intel confirmed the SKU as an 18-core Arrow Lake-HX processor with 6P+12E configuration, 30MB Smart Cache, 5.1 GHz boost clock, 55W base power, and 160W maximum turbo power.

The early PassMark data suggests that Intel’s 18-core Core Ultra 7 model can land close to the existing 20-core HX parts in this benchmark. More samples are still needed, since the current result is based on only two submissions.
