MSI MPG 271KRAW18 5K Mini LED glossy monitor shown at Computex
5K at 180Hz, 1440p at 330Hz.
This is one of the monitors that we didn’t cover during Computex. MSI has shown the MPG 271KRAW18, a 27-inch 5K Mini LED gaming monitor with a glossy coating and dual-mode operation. MSI calls it the world’s first 5K Mini-LED glossy dual-mode gaming monitor.
The monitor supports 5120×2880 resolution at 180Hz. It can also switch to 2560×1440 at 330Hz, which MSI refers to as 2K mode. This gives the panel a higher refresh rate option without moving to another display.
The MPG 271KRAW18 seems to be an updated version of the MPG 271KRAW16 shown earlier. TFTCentral reports that MSI has increased the native 5K refresh rate from 165Hz to 180Hz.

The monitor uses a 27-inch Rapid IPS panel with 5120×2880 resolution and a 218 PPI pixel density. Compared with 4K UHD, 5K at this size provides 77% more pixels. MSI lists 2,304 Mini LED dimming zones, Quantum Dot technology, 98% DCI-P3 coverage and Delta E below 2. The monitor also carries VESA DisplayHDR 1400 certification, with peak brightness listed above 1,400 nits.

The Computex slide also lists NVIDIA G-SYNC, 0.5ms GtG response time, AI Navigator and a one-click switch for changing between 5K/180Hz and 2K WQHD/330Hz modes. The glossy coating is another key feature, as most Mini LED gaming monitors still use matte panels.

Connectivity includes DisplayPort 2.1 with UHBR20 80Gbps bandwidth . TFTCentral also lists HDMI 2.1, USB Type-C with DisplayPort Alt Mode and 98W power delivery, two USB Type-A ports, one USB Type-B port and a headphone jack.
We have already covered Gigabyte’s FM275K16P , another 27-inch 5K Mini LED glossy gaming monitor shown at Computex. That model also uses 2,304 dimming zones and supports 5K up to 180Hz and QHD at 330Hz. Worth adding that MSI’s model adds DisplayHDR 1400 certification, while Gigabyte’s slides listed DisplayHDR 1000.
According to TFT Central, the monitor will be released in 2027.
