Confirmed: MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ is not cheap

One of our readers sent us a tip about the upcoming MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ handheld. Newegg already has a product page for the Claw 8 EX AI+ CG3EM, but the page itself does not currently show a public price. But first the offiical price.
MSI says it will cost $1,799
MSI has now listed the Claw 8 EX on its official US store page. This is basically a confirmation of MSRP; MSI rarely changes pricing here. That said, the official price is at $1,799.00.

It also confirms that MSI’s Arc G3 Extreme handheld will not launch anywhere near the $1,500 figure reported around Computex. Best Buy already listed the device earlier this month at $1,699.00.
Newegg: $1699
However, the price can still be obtained through Newegg’s own shopping assistant. When asked about the MSI Claw 8 EX, the AI assistant returns a price of $1,699.00 and links directly to the Newegg product page. That’s $100 lower than MSI, who do not conifrm any special bundle that would justify the price increase.

The Claw 8 EX AI+ is therefore shaping up as one of the most expensive gaming handhelds announced so far. So much for me buying the Arc G3 Extreme handheld, I guess. This system should have 16GB and 24GB memory options for sure.
