DSX adds Bluetooth audio and haptics for Sony DualSense controllers on PC

DSX v3.2 beta enables DualSense controller support

DSX v3.2 Beta 01 adds support for DualSense audio and haptic feedback over Bluetooth on PC. The update allows supported games to send native DualSense audio and haptics through DSX when the controller is connected wirelessly or over USB.

DualSense haptics without USB cable

The update creates a virtual DualSense device for games that recognize Sony’s controller. DSX then sends trigger, light and rumble data to the real controller. With the new beta, this also includes Bluetooth audio and haptic feedback for DualSense and DualSense Edge controllers.

The v3.2 Beta 01 update also adds support for launching DSX manually without Steam for up to 28 days through an ownership cache. The developers also redesigned multiple app pages and updated profiles, button mapping, controller skins and audio device handling.

It goes without saying, but this is not an official Sony feature. It is handled through DSX, also known as DualSenseX, a third-party Steam application for PlayStation controllers on PC. The feature requires DSX+, the paid add-on used for Virtual DualSense support.

Steam currently lists the DSX app at $7.99 in the US. The DSX+ DLC costs $3.99, while the DSX and DSX+ bundle is listed at $9.58. In Europe the DLC appears at €4.15, though Steam pricing can vary by region.
