Valve Fremont Steam Machine returns to Geekbench after 10 months, now running SteamOS
SteamOS replaces Windows in new Geekbench runs.
Valve’s upcoming Steam Machine has appeared again in Geekbench under its Fremont codename. Two new Geekbench 6.7.1 entries were uploaded on June 15, almost ten months after the first public Fremont results from August 2025. Unlike the earlier submissions , the new runs list SteamOS as the operating system.
The system is still identified as Valve Fremont with an AMD Custom CPU 1772 processor. Geekbench reports one processor with 6 cores and 12 threads, 16MB of L3 cache and an indicated 4.86 GHz frequency. The identifier remains AuthenticAMD Family 25 Model 124 Stepping 0, which matches the earlier Fremont entries.

Windows vs. Linux
The new Linux runs scored 2282 and 2334 points in single-core, and 7392 and 7316 points in multi-core. The older Windows entries from August 2025 scored 2412/7451 and 2304/7117, so the CPU results are in the same range.

SteamOS now appears in the benchmark database, which makes the new entries more interesting than the original Windows-based tests. Valve has already listed Steam Machine as a SteamOS device, and recent SteamOS updates added initial support for upcoming Steam Machine hardware.
The timing also lines up with recent rumors that Steam Machine review samples may already be in the hands of selected testers. Geekbench entries alone cannot confirm that claim, but the return of Fremont under SteamOS suggests that Valve is still testing the hardware close to launch. Pricing and retail availability remain unconfirmed.
