Dell XPS 13 DX13260 starts at €1,049 in Europe, far above US price
Dell XPS 13 DX13260, the lightweight and lower-cost XPS model announced at Computex, was quickly presented as Dell’s answer to Apple’s rumored MacBook Neo.
$699 in US, €1049 in EU
The system starts at $699 in the US, while eligible students can buy it for $599. That price created the impression that Dell had a real budget XPS option. European pricing tells a different story. Dell EU storesalready lists the same XPS 13 from €1,049 including VAT, or €852.85 before VAT.
There is a student discount in Europe, but it does not match the US offer. Dell Germany advertises the XPS 13 from €799 for eligible students . This is lower than the public €1,049 price, but it is still well above a direct conversion of the US student price. The $599 US price converts to around €516 before tax. Even after adding European VAT, the price should land around €630, depending on the country. This means the German student price is still around €170 higher than a VAT-adjusted conversion of the US student price.
The real problem is regular European prices. At €1,049, the EU listing is around €414 above the same VAT-adjusted estimate , and the difference is already visible before tax.

What’s inside
The base European configuration uses an Intel Core 5 320 processor, integrated Intel Graphics, 8GB of LPDDR5X-7467 memory , and a 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD. It also has a 13.4-inch 2.5K InfinityEdge touchscreen with a 30-120Hz refresh rate and 500-nit brightness. Dell lists the laptop with a 52Wh battery, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, a 1080p IR webcam, quad speakers, and a CNC aluminum chassis.
Dell currently shows two ready-made configurations. Both use the same Core 5 320 processor, 512GB SSD, and 2.5K touchscreen. The base model has 8GB memory and costs €1,049, while the 16GB model costs €1,199 including VAT, or €974.80 before VAT.

Actually not Neo competitor
The Dell XPS 13 is much more expensive than Apple’s rumored MacBook Neo, which is also expected to be offered with a student discount. Neo is expected to cost €599 for students and €699 for other buyers. Influencers who presented it as a Neo competitor may need to revisit that claim and explain how both laptops are supposed to compete at these prices.
