AMD Ryzen Threadripper TR6 “Mustang Peak” with Zen 6 and PCIe Gen 6
AMD documentation reveals next-gen Threadripper platform.
The page names “TR6 Mustang Peak” and refers to a Threadripper Pro CPU with Family 1Ah Model A8h. According to AMD, the processor is based on Zen6 “2-nm” cores and supports DDR5 memory and PCIe Gen 6.
The listing appears under “AMD Ryzen Threadripper TR6 Desktop Processors,” but the description itself mentions “Threadripper Pro CPU.” AMD has not listed any SKUs, core counts, clocks, cache sizes, TDPs, chipsets, or release timing.

TR6 replaces the current TR5 platform
The current Ryzen Threadripper 9000 series uses the TR5 platform with TRX50 and WRX90 motherboards. AMD’s current PRO 9000WX lineup scales up to 96 cores and 192 threads, with 350W TDP and up to 128 PCIe 5.0 lanes.
TR6 would therefore be the first platform change since Threadripper 7000. The biggest confirmed change so far is PCIe Gen 6 support, which doubles per-lane bandwidth compared to PCIe Gen 5.
AMD has not confirmed whether Mustang Peak will include both HEDT and PRO models. The wording on the documentation page points to Threadripper Pro, but the page title uses the broader Ryzen Threadripper TR6 desktop processor name.
