AMD recommends Adrenalin 26.6.1 rollback for affected Windows 10 users
AMD is aware of the fact that some gamers are unable to use the most recent drivers.
The 26.6.2 driver was released just yesterday with AMD FSR Upscaling 4.1 support for Radeon RX 7000 series graphics cards. It also added support for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced and DOOM: The Dark Ages, Revelations, along with several fixes for RDNA GPUs.
Windows 10 users report yellow bang in Device Manager
According to AMD’s support article, affected users may see a yellow bang in Device Manager after installing Adrenalin 26.6.2. AMD says the software may fail to launch and display an error message instead.
AMD says its engineers are investigating the issue. Until a fix is available, the company recommends affected users roll back to AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.6.1. It’s not clear whether a fix will be released as a new driver or only a small patch for existing drivers (AMD is known for re-releasing drivers).

User reports started appearing shortly after the release. Error code 43 on a Radeon RX 7900 XTX/7800XT under Windows 10 x64 is often mentioned. APparently it’s not isolated to RX 7000 series, someusers evenmention Radeon RX 9060 XT or even Ryzen 9000 iGPUs not detected after installing 26.6.2, but worked again after reinstalling 26.6.1.
The issue appears to be tied to Windows 10 installations, based on AMD’s own support note and early user reports. Windows 11 users are not mentioned in AMD’s advisory.
AMD has not pulled back FSR 4.1 support for Radeon RX 7000 GPUs. The current workaround only applies to users affected by the Windows 10 driver issue. However this means FSR 4.1 has been effectively ‘unlaunched’ for the unlucky few.
