AMD releases FSR SDK 2.3 with Ray Regeneration 1.2.0
FSR Ray Regeneration gets new denoising options.

AMD has released FSR SDK 2.3.0 through GPUOpen and GitHub. The new package updates several AMD FSR Redstone DLL-based machine learning technologies, but it does not introduce a new effect.
Ray Regeneration 1.2
The main ray tracing update is AMD FSR Ray Regeneration 1.2.0. According to AMD, the new version adds optional ambient occlusion denoising and optional specular occlusion denoising. AMD also added checkerboard rendering support, new debug options and validation support.
This is not just a small DLL refresh for developers. AMD lists API-breaking changes for Ray Regeneration 1.2.0, including the removal of the fuse mode API, changes to logging, new matrix handling, signed linear depth changes and new signal API entries. Developers updating from Ray Regeneration 1.1 may need integration changes.

AMD FSR Upscaling to version 4.1.1
FSR SDK 2.3 also updates AMD FSR Upscaling to version 4.1.1. The key change is support for FSR Upscaling 4.1 on Radeon RX 7000 Series discrete GPUs based on RDNA 3. Until now, the ML-based FSR 4 path was available only on Radeon RX 9000 Series GPUs based on RDNA 4.
AMD FSR Frame Generation 4.0.1
AMD FSR Frame Generation has also been updated to version 4.0.1. The release notes mention fixes for motion vector preprocessing, camera information binding and frame generation swapchain shutdown handling. AMD also updated the FSR Frame Generation Swapchain to 3.1.7 with a fix for a latency waitable object race condition.
Ray Regeneration 1.2.0 still requires Radeon RX 9000 Series or newer hardware and Shader Model 6.6 support. AMD lists DirectX 12 and Unreal Engine 5 plugin support, although the current Unreal Engine plugin still uses FSR Upscaling 4.0.3 and will be updated to v4.1.1 later.
The last FSR SDK 2.2 was released in March , when AMD updated FSR Upscaling to 4.1 and Ray Regeneration to 1.1. The new SDK 2.3 release moves Ray Regeneration to 1.2.0 and extends the FSR 4.1 upscaling path to RDNA 3 GPUs.
