AMD Ryzen 5 9600X is now even cheaper
AMD’s Ryzen 5 9600X is now listed at $176.39 on Amazon US. This puts the six-core Zen 5 desktop processor 37% below its $279 list price.
The lower price also places AMD’s CPU below Intel’s Core Ultra 5 250K Plus. This CPU was already respnsible for 9600XT price cut a few weeksa go. Intel introduced the new Arrow Lake SKU back in March as direct competitor.
Intel’s own benchmarks put the Core Ultra 5 250K Plus and Ryzen 5 9600X at the same level in gaming. For productivity workloads, Intel claims a larger lead. The company lists up to 85% higher Blender performance, up to 89% higher Cinebench 2026 multithread performance and up to 103% higher 3DMark CPU Profile Max Threads performance against the Ryzen 5 9600X.
Interestignly, since Intel posted this slide, the price of 250K Plus has actually increased to $219, while 9600X seems to be getting cheaper.
