Core 2 Quad Q6600 system runs Windows 11 on DDR1-era motherboard

Windows 11 has been shown running on a DDR1 motherboard with AGP graphics, using hardware from a very different PC era. The system is based on an ASRock ConRoe865PE motherboard with Intel i865PE chipset, which originally launched in the early 2000s.
The board supports DDR1 memory and AGP graphics, but it can also run newer LGA775 processors. In this case, the system uses an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600, a 65nm quad-core CPU that gives the platform more usable performance than earlier Pentium 4-era chips.

The more unusual part is not only Windows 11 running on old hardware, but working AGP acceleration. The system uses an ATI Radeon HD 4650 AGP graphics card, with AGP 8X support restored through driver modification. According to the user, Windows 7 64-bit drivers from 2012 were used for the Radeon card. A later comment mentions Windows 10 AGP drivers and a custom INF file to restore AGP support. H.264 hardware decoding is also active on the system.
Runs Half Life 2 and Crysis
The user also confirmed that the system can run Crysis and Half Life 2. This is separate from simply showing Windows 11 on the desktop, as it confirms that 3D acceleration is working well enough for older games.

The system reportedly runs without UEFI and uses only ACPI 1.1. The user also noted that Windows 11 IoT officially supports BIOS systems, which helps explain why Windows itself can still operate on legacy firmware, even if this setup is far outside normal consumer support.
One thing that is also worth mentioning. The system boots from SSD (Toshiba Thnsnj512gcsu), which may explain why this system feels so snappy. First-gen SATA SSDs were the biggest upgrades for old systems replacing HDDs.
