GPD WIN Max 3 specs point to 110W Strix Halo handheld PC

GPD is preparing another Strix Halo handheld, this time under the WIN Max series. Early specifications for the GPD WIN Max 3 have appeared through GPD Store and DROIX, although final pricing, launch date and configurations are still not confirmed.
The device is listed with AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 and Ryzen AI Max+ 388 processor options. Both are Strix Halo APUs with Radeon 8060S graphics, while the listed TDP range goes from 45W to 110W. GPD Store also lists up to 128GB of LPDDR5X-8000 memory and up to 4TB of NVMe storage. We have advocated for more MAX+388 handhelds because they bring the best of the Halo platform for gamers. Yes, they get half the CPU cores (still 8), but one gets the full graphic specs.
Strix Halo returns to GPD handhelds
We mentioned GPD’s plans for more Strix Halo handhelds after the WIN 5. That model already used AMD’s Ryzen AI Max platform with Radeon 8060S graphics, but the WIN Max 3 shifts the concept back to GPD’s clamshell format with a keyboard, touchpad and built-in game controls.
The WIN Max 3 is listed with a 9.06-inch AMOLED display. The panel has a 2400×1504 resolution, 165Hz refresh rate, HDR10 support and selectable 165Hz, 144Hz, 120Hz and 60Hz modes. DROIX also lists 313 PPI, 10-bit color and up to 1050 nits HBM peak brightness.

The design uses an external modular system for battery and cooling . GPD Store lists a 97Wh external swappable battery module and an external 110W fan module. The base unit measures 207×147×34 mm, while the module-equipped form factor is listed at 207×180×34 mm.
Storage support includes M.2 2280, M.2 2230 and Mini SSD 1517. The port list includes USB4 with DisplayPort 2.1, HDMI 2.1 FRL, USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports and a 3.5 mm audio jack. The device is also listed with Windows 11 Home, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.
For now, the main missing details are price and availability. This is important for Strix Halo handhelds, as GPD’s existing WIN 5 configurations already sit well above mainstream handheld pricing. Until GPD confirms retail SKUs, the WIN Max 3 should be treated as an early listing rather than a full launch.
