Intel LGA1700 platform may see wider CPU supply as DDR4 demand rises
Intel reportedly prepares larger supply of older Core CPUs for China DIY market.
According to a new China channel report from Channel Gate, Intel is preparing to increase supply of older Core desktop processors during Q3 2026. The report claims Intel will restart production of 13th and 14th Gen Core CPUs, with a broader increase in supply across 10th, 12th, 13th and 14th Gen Core lines.
The report says 10th Gen and 12th Gen Core processors are expected to see the largest supply increase. It also claims 13th and 14th Gen Core CPUs will remain available in large volume later in the quarter, including shipments entering the mainland China market.

Nagivating through memory shortages: DDR4 in focus
The same channel note links the CPU supply plan to current DRAM pricing. After the 618 sales (popular shopping festival) period in China, the recommendation for offline DIY retailers is to focus on DDR4 platforms as the main sales target.
DDR5 platforms are not being dropped from the plan. The report instead suggests targeting DDR5 systems toward online retail, internet cafes and buyers with fixed platform requirements. This would create separate DDR4 and DDR5 sales tracks depending on cost and inventory.
Worth noting, Intel is also expected to launch Raptor Lake Next in 2027. No major architecture changes are expected for this lineup, which appears to be a quick refresh of existing SKUs before Intel moves them under new branding. These processors are expected to be part of the Core 200 series.
