Yet another Linux laptop from System76 arrives in July
System76 has listed a new Adder Pro 15 laptop, a lighter model in its Linux notebook lineup with Intel Panther Lake and NVIDIA RTX 50 graphics. The system is not available to order yet, but System76 says it will arrive in mid-July.
The Adder Pro 15 is based on the Intel Core Ultra 7 356H processor. This is a 16-core Panther Lake chip with 4 Performance cores, 8 Efficient cores and 4 Low Power Efficient cores.
RTX 5070 in a 1.53 kg chassis
System76 will offer the laptop with GeForce RTX 5060 or GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop graphics. Both options are listed with 8GB of GDDR7 memory. The company has not confirmed GPU power limits yet, so performance comparisons with other RTX 50 laptops will have to wait.
The chassis measures 34.37 × 26.19 × 1.98 cm and weighs 3.37 lb, or around 1.53 kg. That makes it much lighter than System76’s current RTX 5070 laptop options. For comparison, the Oryx Pro 16 is listed at 4.96 lb (2.25 kg), while the Adder WS 15 is listed at 5.29 lb (2.4 kg), so almost 1kg difference.
OLED panel and up to 96GB DDR5 memory
The laptop uses a 15.3-inch OLED display with 2560×1600 resolution, a 16:10 aspect ratio and 165 Hz refresh rate. System76 lists 100% DCI-P3 coverage and a glossy panel finish. The memory configuration goes up to 96GB of DDR5-5600 across two slots. Storage includes one M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 x4 slot with up to 4TB SSD support and one M.2 2242 PCIe 4.0 x4 slot for expansion.
The port list includes two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports with DisplayPort 1.4, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, HDMI, Gigabit Ethernet and a combined audio jack. The laptop also has Wi-Fi 7, a 5MP webcam with a privacy shutter, a 60Wh battery and a 230W power adapter.
Pricing has not yet been announced.
