MINISFORUM NAB9S mini PC launches with Core i9-13900HK and DDR4 memory
Another new compact PC avoids DDR5.
MINISFORUM has launched the NAB9S, a compact Intel-based mini PC built around the Core i9-13900HK processor. This is a 14-core and 20-thread Raptor Lake mobile CPU with a boost clock of up to 5.4 GHz.
The system is now listed on the MINISFORUM store for $399 as a barebone unit. A prebuilt configuration with 32GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD is listed at $759. The page shows Intel UHD Graphics, not a discrete GPU, so this is mainly an office, media and light content creation system.

The more interesting part is the memory support. NAB9S uses two DDR4 SO-DIMM slots rated for up to 3200 MT/s and up to 32GB capacity. This is another new mini PC using DDR4 instead of DDR5, following another recently product with the same older memory standard.
DDR5 pricing and availability have become a problem for consumer PC makers, while DDR4 remains available across older mobile and desktop platforms. For low-cost mini PCs, using DDR4 can help vendors keep barebone pricing lower and allow buyers to reuse existing memory.

For storage, NAB9S supports one M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 SSD up to 4TB and one 2.5-inch SATA drive. The system also includes Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, two HDMI outputs and two USB-C display outputs, each supporting up to 4K at 60 Hz.
