NVIDIA Rosa CPU to use new Rigel Arm v9.2 core
NVIDIA has confirmed the name of its next custom CPU core after Olympus.

The company’s latest Vera CPU blog mentions Rigel as the core planned for Rosa, NVIDIA’s next-generation CPU. Rosa itself was already part of NVIDIA’s public roadmap for the Feynman generation, but the Rigel core name and its basic architectural direction were not previously disclosed.
Vera uses Olympus, Rosa moves to Rigel
The naming works across three layers. Vera is the CPU used with Rubin GPUs. Olympus is the custom CPU core inside Vera. Rosa is the next CPU planned for the Feynman generation, and it will use the new Rigel core.
NVIDIA says Rigel is based on Arm v9.2 and will deliver higher per-core performance than Olympus while keeping the same silicon footprint. The company points to improved instruction delivery, a larger L2 cache and more efficient memory handling.
And NVIDIA’s not done. NVIDIA’s next-generation Rosa CPU with the Rigel core will continue the company’s CPU roadmap for the agentic AI era. Rigel is NVIDIA’s next-generation Arm v9.2 CPU core, delivering higher per-core performance than Olympus while keeping the same silicon footprint. Key improvements include better instruction delivery, a larger L2 cache and more efficient memory handling.

Olympus is used by Vera, which features 88 custom NVIDIA CPU cores. Vera targets agentic AI workloads where CPU-side tasks such as tool execution, code execution, data processing and sandbox management can affect total system throughput.
NVIDIA has not shared Rosa core counts, cache sizes, clock speeds or launch timing in this blog. Feynman family of products is expected to hit the market in 2028.
