Samsung PM1763 SSD offers up to 28.4 GB/s reads and 21.9 GB/s writes
Samsung PM1763 PCIe 6.0 SSD enters mass production.

The new drive uses Samsung’s 9th Gen V-NAND and a newly developed 4nm controller. Samsung says the controller and interface upgrade allow the PM1763 to deliver more than twice the performance of the previous PM1753 series.
The 16TB model reaches up to 28,400 MB/s sequential read speed and up to 21,900 MB/s sequential write speed. According to Samsung, this allows a 40GB large language model to be transferred in about 1.4 seconds.
The mass-production announcement confirms 4TB, 8TB and 16TB capacities. Samsung’s product page also mentions E1.S, E3.S and U.2 form factors with capacities from 4TB to 64TB, although U.2 is limited to PCIe Gen5.

Built for liquid-cooled AI servers
PM1763 is designed for direct-to-chip cooling in dense server platforms. Samsung says the drive can sustain peak performance under heavy workloads and offers more than 1.8 times better power efficiency than PM1753.
The drive also adds security features for AI and virtualized infrastructure. Samsung lists support for post-quantum cryptography, SPDM 1.4, CNSA 2.0 and TDISP-based link encryption.
The company only says PM1763 has completed validation for next-generation AI platforms, which should include NVIDIA Vera Rubin supercomputer.
