Lenovo pairs RTX 5070 12GB with 240Hz OLED in Legion Pro 5
The revised RTX 5070 configuration provides 50% more memory while retaining a 115W TGP.
Lenovo has added the Legion Pro 5 16AFR10 to its Product Specifications Reference database. The 16-inch gaming laptop combines an AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX processor with GeForce RTX 5060 or RTX 5070 graphics. Lenovo confirms both 8GB and 12GB versions of the RTX 5070 Laptop GPU.
Both RTX 5070 configurations have a boost clock of up to 2347 MHz, a 115W TGP and a rated 798 AI TOPS. The 12GB model therefore increases memory capacity by 50% without changing Lenovo’s GPU power or clock configuration. An RTX 5060 8GB option is also available with a 115W TGP and a boost clock of up to 2497 MHz.
RTX 5070 12GB on board
NVIDIA confirmed the 12GB RTX 5070 Laptop GPU in April. The company said the card uses 24Gb GDDR7 chips, giving laptop manufacturers access to another memory supply pool alongside existing 16Gb chips. NVIDIA’s specifications show 4,608 CUDA cores and 384 GB/s of bandwidth for the RTX 5070 Laptop GPU, covering both 8GB and 12GB configurations.
The Ryzen 9 9955HX has 16 Zen 5 cores, 32 threads and boost clocks of up to 5.4 GHz. The system supports DDR5-5600 memory through two SO-DIMM slots. Lenovo currently confirms configurations with up to 32GB. Storage is provided through two PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 slots.
Display choices include 16-inch 2560×1600 OLED panels with either 165Hz or 240Hz refresh rates. Both options support 500-nit typical SDR brightness, 1,100-nit peak HDR brightness, 100% DCI-P3 coverage, DisplayHDR True Black 1000, Dolby Vision and NVIDIA G-SYNC.
The Legion Pro 5 includes an 80Wh battery, a 245W power adapter and weighs around 2.3 kg with an OLED panel. Connectivity includes three USB-A ports, two 10Gbps USB-C ports, HDMI 2.1, Gigabit Ethernet and optional Wi-Fi 7.
Lenovo has not confirmed pricing or a retail release date for the RTX 5070 12GB configurations.
