AMD confirms Zen 6 rollout for its July 22 AI event

AMD has confirmed that its Zen 6 CPU architecture will launch at the Advancing AI 2026 event on July 22 and 23. The event will take place in San Francisco, less than two weeks from now.
AMD CTO Mark Papermaster said the company will roll out its sixth-generation processors during the event. The launch will begin with 6th Gen EPYC processors, codenamed Venice, rather than consumer Ryzen CPUs.
Zen 6 arrives first in AMD EPYC servers
EPYC Venice will be part of AMD’s Helios rack-scale AI platform. These processors will operate alongside AMD Instinct MI455 accelerators and AMD Pensando networking hardware.
I’ll say for me, every enterprise conversation I’m having now, this comes up. Because enterprises have, you know, decades of running x86. They’re not going to move that install base. And what we’ve done at AMD, you know, since we launched the new Zen processor back in 2017. We’re now on our sixth generation. So, at our Advancing AI event on July 22nd and 23rd, we’re rolling out this new generation. You know, it continues the kind of leadership x86 CPU, but it’s designed in such a way that it matches what I just described a moment moment ago. It’s optimized for standalone x86 traditional workloads.

AMD previously confirmed that Venice is based on the Zen 6 architecture and supports up to 256 cores. The company claims up to 1.7 times the performance and 1.6 TB/s of memory bandwidth compared with the previous platform.

Production of the 6th Gen EPYC family is already ramping up. AMD says Venice is its first high-performance computing product manufactured using TSMC’s 2nm process technology.
As we recall, AMD has no update for consumers at Computex when it comes to Zen6. In fact, there was no press event at all, the company decided to re-launch several of its products instead. Sadly, this seems to be a pattern for AMD, who prioritize hyperscalers and investors when it comes to new hardware updates. So, in two weeks, we shouldn’t anticipate any updates to consumer roadmaps.
