JSAUX reveals three screen-equipped Steam Machine faceplates
JSAUX is asking Steam Machine owners to choose which display-equipped faceplate it should produce first. The company has prepared three designs based on mono E-Ink, color E-Ink and color dot-matrix displays.
Voting is taking place through the official JSAUX Discord server rather than through an X or Reddit poll. JSAUX has also updated its Steam Machine product page to show all three concepts and collect email registrations.
Three display technologies are being considered
The first design uses a large monochrome E-Ink screen. JSAUX describes it as a low-power, always-on option that follows the appearance of Valve’s Inkterface concept.

The units shown are functional engineering prototypes created to demonstrate our product concepts. Both the e-ink display UI and the connection method for the dot-matrix display are still under development and may change before launch. Our current target is a Q4 release.
JSAUX
The second model uses a smaller color E-Ink display. It provides additional color and customization options while retaining the low-power properties associated with E-Ink panels.
The third faceplate uses a color dot-matrix display. It supports real-time updates without the slower refresh behavior of E-Ink, but JSAUX says it requires external power. Pricing and release dates have not been announced, and the Discord vote will determine which design receives priority.
JSAUX confirms the three concepts on its Steam Machine page. The voting details and external-power requirement for the dot-matrix version appear in the shared Reddit capture.
