Acer Nitro V 16 AI launches with Ryzen 9 270 and 85W RTX 5070 for $2,100
Acer pairs a renamed Hawk Point processor with an 8GB RTX 5070 Laptop GPU.
Acer has opened US preorders for a new Nitro V 16 AI gaming laptop. The ANV16-A31-R8XV configuration costs $2,099.99 and is scheduled for release on July 12.
The system features the AMD Ryzen 9 270 , an eight-core and 16-thread Zen 4 processor based on the Hawk Point design. It has a 4.0 GHz base clock, boosts up to 5.2 GHz and operates within a configurable 35W to 54W range. This is the highest SKU in the ‘refreshed’ Zen4 rebrands that AMD had just updated yesterday .
The specs of Ryzen 9 270 match those of the Ryzen 9 8945HS. Both chips use the same Zen 4 architecture, clock configuration, cache capacity, Radeon 780M integrated graphics and 45W default TDP.
Acer combines the processor with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU f eaturing 8GB of GDDR7 memory. The GPU operates with up to 85W of graphics power. The laptop also includes 16GB of DDR5 memory and a 512GB PCIe 4.0 SSD.
The Nitro V 16 AI uses a 16-inch IPS display with a 1920 × 1200 resolution, 180Hz refresh rate and full sRGB color coverage. The system weighs 4.6 pounds, or around 2.09 kg, and includes a 76Wh battery.
The $2,099.99 configuration ships with 16GB of memory and 512GB of storage despite its RTX 5070-class pricing. Acer has also listed a $1,899.99 model with a Ryzen AI 7 450 processor and GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop GPU , which is scheduled to launch on the same day. Interestingly, the cheaper laptop has Copilot+PC certification because it has a more powerful NPU. Not a feature I would personally look for, though.
