Steam Frame nears launch as Valve opens dedicated Steam Store section
Valve has added a dedicated “Great on Steam Frame” section to the Steam Store. The new category is another indication that the company is preparing to release its standalone VR headset.
Steam Store category currently lists four compatible titles
The section currently lists four games and applications: Portal 2, Into Black, Aperture Hand Lab and The Lab . It follows the same format as Valve’s existing compatibility sections for the Steam Deck and Steam Machine.
We previously reported that Valve had started assigning Steam Frame compatibility ratings to games. Portal 2 received a Playable rating because it does not support the headset’s native display resolution, although it passed Valve’s other compatibility checks.

Valve has since rated The Lab as Verified, while Aperture Hand Lab is listed as Playable. These ratings cover games running directly on the ARM-based Steam Frame through SteamOS, Proton and the FEX translation layer, rather than titles streamed from a PC.
Another launch-related update appeared earlier this month when the Steam Frame Wireless Adapter driver changed to “Released” in SteamDB. Valve has not announced the headset’s price or exact availability date, but it previously confirmed a summer 2026 release window.
