Colorful iGame Shadow II DDR5 kit overclocked from 6000 to 8600 MT/s
A 32GB iGame Shadow II kit completed a 100% memory test at CL46.

Colorful has demonstrated its CXMT-based DDR5 memory running at 8600 MT/s on an AMD AM5 platform . The test used a 32GB iGame Shadow II kit with two 16GB modules.
The memory was installed on the Colorful iGame X870E VULCAN OC V14 motherboard with an AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D processor. CPU-Z recorded a 4299.9 MHz DRAM clock, corresponding to an effective transfer rate of 8600 MT/s.
According to UNIKO’s Hardware, the modules use 2GB DDR5 dies manufactured by Chinese memory producer CXMT . The kit is rated for DDR5-6000 but was overclocked to DDR5-8600 with CL46 timings. It also completed a 100% RunMemTestPro test.

CXMT memory reaches another AM5 milestone
This is the fastest reported result for a DDR5 kit using CXMT 2GB dies. It is 200 MT/s above the DDR5-8400 result recently demonstrated by ASUS and 400 MT/s above the DDR5-8200 validation announced by MSI .
The motherboard was designed for memory overclocking and uses only two DIMM slots. Colorful officially advertises support for DDR5-8600+ with Ryzen 9000 processors, while its general specifications mention DDR5-10000+ support under overclocked conditions.
Despite numerous announcements from motherboard makers, nothing suggests that CXMT memory chips will be used in global DDR5 modules. However, once the memory shortages pass, more options will be on the table, and perhaps even more competition.
