Streamer claims CS2 blast destroyed his GPU
Russian streamer StRoGo attempted to detonate more than 100,000 grenades at once on a custom Counter-Strike 2 server. The broadcast lost video during the explosion and ended shortly afterward.
According to Russian and Chinese media the experiment burned out the entire PC. The suffered irreparable damage, it is caimed. The available footage does not show fire, smoke or the computer itself being inspected after the stream.
After the stream, StRoGo addressed the incident through his Telegram channel. The GPU is done, he wrote, before adding that he would buy a new one the following day and continue.
The burned PC photo is unrelated
One thing I wanted to add is that the burned computer image attached to the Telegram post and reposted by some media outlets does not show StRoGo’s system. It appears that the streamer used old photo unrelated to what happened here. Meanwhile, the ‘grenade setup’ that apparently killed the GPU looked like this:

A game suddenly pushing the CPU and GPU to 100% should not burn the system. Modern hardware should throttle, crash, shut down, or trigger PSU protection first. If the GPU really died during the test, the load probably exposed another issue, such as a bad connector, unstable overclock, poor cooling, or a failing power supply. That’s assuming this whole story is true.
I would say the story is thin on details, but two of our readers sent us tips, so I thought it was worth checking. I am not sure why the streamer claimed that his GPU had failed and then shared an unrelated photo of a completely burned PC. None of the reports name the exact graphics card, although several esports databases list his current system with a GeForce RTX 5090.
