Predator monitor brings SpatialLabs 3D to gaming
Acer has released the Predator XB273K 3D gaming monitor in China.
The Predator XB273K 3D was first announced at Computex in May. Acer plans to release it in North America during the fourth quarter for $1,299.99. The European launch is also scheduled for the fourth quarter with a €1,499 starting price.
The monitor uses a 3840 × 2160 IPS panel with a refresh rate of up to 180Hz over DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.1. Acer lists a response time of 1ms, or 0.5ms under its minimum GtG measurement. The panel reaches 400 nits and covers 95% of the DCI-P3 color space with 8-bit color plus FRC.
3D without glasses
An integrated camera tracks the user’s eyes and adjusts the stereoscopic image without requiring 3D glasses. Acer’s SpatialLabs 3D Hub software supports native 3D files, compatible games and the conversion of standard 2D images and videos into 3D content. The monitor uses a local AI model together with processing resources from the connected computer.

The XB273K 3D includes two HDMI 2.1 ports, DisplayPort 1.4, two USB 3.2 ports, a USB upstream connection and an audio output. It also has two 5W speakers and a stand supporting height, tilt, swivel and pivot adjustments.
Acer lists AMD FreeSync Premium and NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible support, although its current product page states that both certification applications remain in progress.
