GIGABYTE launches B850M AORUS STEALTH with backside connectors

GIGABYTE B850M AORUS STEALTH supports DDR5-8200 and PCIe 5.0

GIGABYTE has added the black B850M AORUS STEALTH to its motherboard lineup. The Micro-ATX model uses the AMD B850 chipset and relocates most power, storage and case connectors to the rear of the PCB.

The board joins the white B850M AORUS STEALTH ICE , which GIGABYTE listed in May. We covered that model when its specifications and product images appeared on the company’s website. The black version uses the same layout and core hardware.

Backside connectors in Micro-ATX format

GIGABYTE calls this the first gaming B850 Micro-ATX motherboard with a reverse-connector design. The 24-pin motherboard connector, 8-pin CPU power connector, SATA ports and internal headers face the rear of the case. This keeps most cables out of the main compartment but requires a compatible chassis with matching cutouts.

The AM5 board supports Ryzen 7000, Ryzen 8000 and Ryzen 9000 processors. It has an 8+2+2-phase power design and four DDR5 DIMM slots supporting up to 256GB of memory. GIGABYTE lists memory overclocking support up to DDR5-8200.

PCIe 5.0, Wi-Fi 7 and 5GbE

Expansion includes one PCIe 5.0 x16 slot and a second full-length PCIe 4.0 x4 slot. Storage is handled by three M.2 connectors, including one PCIe 5.0 x4 slot and two PCIe 4.0 slots. The board also provides two SATA 6Gb/s connectors.

Network connectivity includes Realtek 5GbE, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. The rear panel offers USB 10Gbps Type-C and Type-A ports, four USB 5Gbps ports, four USB 2.0 ports, HDMI and DisplayPort.

GIGABYTE has not announced pricing or retail availability.
