MSI CXMT announcement goes global
When MSI , ASUS and later Colorful announced support for Chinese DDR5 memory last week, I noticed out one thing: none of the companies mentioned it on their global websites. This suggested that the feature was being promoted mainly for the Chinese and Taiwanese markets, where such memory is already sold.
Turns out that was only a matter of time, MSI has now published a new announcement for the global market. However, this does not mean CXMT-based memory is coming to other regions. MSI has not confirmed global availability or named any retail partners.
MSI today announced that its Intel 800-series motherboards are now fully optimized for DDR5 memory built on CXMT (ChangXin Memory Technologies) DRAM. Following dedicated BIOS memory tuning, MSI Z890 motherboards deliver stable DDR5-8000+ operation with CXMT-based modules, spanning from flagship overclocking designs all the way to mainstream 4-DIMM boards.

Global announcement confirming DDR5-8000+ support for CXMT-based memory on Intel 800-series motherboards. The company demonstrated DDR5-8600 on its MEG Z890 UNIFY-X and DDR5-8200 on the PRO Z890-S WIFI. So it’s not just the ultra-expensive overclocking boards.
This follows MSI’s earlier AMD motherboard updates, which added optimizations for CXMT memory through BIOS releases. ASUS and Colorful have also demonstrated high-speed CXMT modules, but those announcements were mainly aimed at China.
The global MSI post is therefore more interesting than the memory speeds alone. It shows that the company is now publicly promoting CXMT compatibility outside its Chinese channels.
