Valve confirms iFixit will continue selling Steam Deck LCD batteries
Valve has confirmed that replacement batteries for the original Steam Deck LCD will continue to be sold through iFixit. New stock is expected to become available as early as next week.
The confirmation follows reports that Valve was ending production of replacement batteries and screens for the LCD model. iFixit staff had reportedly been informed that both components were being phased out.
Valve connects iFixit with a new supplier
Valve spokesperson Kaci Aitchison Boyle told The Verge that iFixit will receive the same OEM battery parts sourced through Valve’s partners. The parts should therefore remain equivalent to those previously supplied through the official repair program.
iFixit CEO Kyle Wiens confirmed that Valve connected the repair company with a supplier. Wiens said iFixit was already working to restore availability.

The update changes the situation described in our previous report. The battery is no longer being discontinued, although Valve has not provided a long-term production commitment for the LCD screen or other original Steam Deck components.
iFixit also plans to source compatible aftermarket batteries should Valve end OEM production later. This should keep battery replacements available as the first Steam Deck systems age and begin to require repairs.
