Ryzen AI Max PRO 400 gets ROCm support before HP and Lenovo systems arrive

AMD has released ROCm 7.14 with official support for its Ryzen AI Max PRO 400 Series processors. The software update arrives before systems based on the new Gorgon Halo chips become available.
The supported processors include the Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495, Ryzen AI Max PRO 490 and Ryzen AI Max PRO 485 . AMD lists all three chips under the Gorgon Halo codename, while ROCm identifies their integrated GPUs as gfx1151 devices.
Ryzen AI Max PRO 400 systems are scheduled for Q3
AMD announced the Ryzen AI Max PRO 400 Series in May. Systems from HP, Lenovo and other OEM partners are scheduled to arrive during the third quarter of 2026. AMD is also preparing an updated Ryzen AI Halo developer platform based on the same processors.
The Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 is the full Gorgon Halo configuration. It combines 16 Zen 5 cores with Radeon 8065S graphics featuring 40 RDNA 3.5 Compute Units. The processor supports up to 192GB of LPDDR5X-8533 memory, with as much as 160GB configurable as graphics memory.

The Ryzen AI Max PRO 490 reduces the CPU to 12 cores and uses Radeon 8050S graphics with 32 Compute Units. The Ryzen AI Max PRO 485 has eight CPU cores and the same 32-CU graphics configuration. All three processors operate within a configurable 45W to 120W power range.
ROCm returns to production releases
ROCm 7.14 also ends the preview release sequence that covered versions 7.9 through 7.13. AMD now considers 7.14 a production release and recommends that users running ROCm 7.2 or older follow its migration guide.
AMD will hold Advancing AI event next week, perhaps we will hear more concrete information on Gorgon Halo release date.
