We previously reported that it seemed as though Valve was silently sunsetting replacement batteries for the Steam Deck LCD based on comments issued by iFixit representatives on both Reddit and official support channels. More recently, however, iFixit CEO, Kyle Wiens, has issued a direct response refuting the notion in a statement on X that reads:

Valve has reached out and is sending us a new batch of Steam Deck LCD batteries!

iFixit will move heaven and earth to keep supporting these handhelds.
