Intel Nova Lake-S 28-core processors scheduled before 52-core model
VideoCardz has obtained the first look at Intel’s new branding for its Nova Lake desktop processor series. The logo uses the Core Ultra Series 4 designation, confirming that Nova Lake-S will launch under the Core Ultra 400 family.
Nova Lake desktop embargo schedule extends into September 2027
We have also received updated news, review and sales embargo windows for several Nova Lake-S packages. The 28-core DS package is currently listed for late January through March 2027. The 28-core K models follow between March and April, while the 16-core and 8-core models are scheduled between late March and May.

The 52-core DS package has a much later window, extending from late May through September 2027. These ranges cover several embargo stages rather than one specific release date.
Nova Lake July 2025 roadmap
- NVL-S 28C DS: Q1 2027, late January to March 2027
- NVL-S 28C K: Q2 2027, March to April 2027
- NVL-S 16C and 8C: Q2 2027, late March to May 2027
- NVL-S 52C DS: Late May to September 2027
Intel uses the K suffix for unlocked desktop processors. DS is an internal package designation typically associated with dual compute tile variants, but not always. Previous package information showed a single compute tile for the 28-core DS configuration, while the 52-core version uses two compute tiles. The current schedule points to a staggered Nova Lake-S rollout running from early 2027 through the third quarter.
