AMD Ryzen 7 7700X3D launches as Newegg exclusive
AMD’s Ryzen 7 7700X3D is currently exclusive to Newegg in the US. The retailer lists the processor for $328.99, with no listings appearing at other major US stores at launch.
The processor uses the Zen 4 architecture and features 8 cores, 16 threads and 104MB of total cache. Newegg lists a 4.0 GHz base clock, a 120W TDP and support for the AM5 platform, DDR5 memory and PCIe 5.0.
Full AM5 bundle costs $480.98
The price isn’t great, but Newegg is trying to bundle it with some old hardware. The 7 7700X3D as part of a three-component bundle. The package costs $529.98 before a $49 discount applied with promo code PKC337, reducing the final price to $480.98.
The bundle includes a GIGABYTE B650E EAGLE WIFI6E motherboard and one 16GB G.SKILL Flare X5 DDR5-6000 memory module. The motherboard supports PCIe 5.0 graphics and storage, Wi-Fi 6E, 2.5 GbE networking and three M.2 drives.
The B650E board is based on an older AM5 chipset, while the memory is supplied as a single DIMM rather than a dual-channel kit. Buyers would need to add another matching module to obtain dual-channel operation.
Even with those limitations, the complete bundle costs $151.99 more than the processor alone. This effectively adds a B650E motherboard and 16GB of DDR5 memory for around $152, making the combo a cheaper option than purchasing all three parts separately.
